With almost twenty years experience working in both the health service and private sector, I have a wealth of experience working with a huge range of difficulties, which ensures that you receive a high quality service. After graduating with a First Class Honours Degree in Applied Psychology I originally began with three years training in Clinical Psychology but then changed direction and completed training in counselling and psychotherapy with a Diploma, and then an Advanced Diploma in Humanistic Integrative Counselling.
I have worked in a wide range of areas, including Addictions, Adult Mental Health Service, Community Paediatrics, Child & Family Mental Health Service, Learning Disability Service, Specialist Trauma Services. I have provided psychotherapy for a wide range of difficulties including Addictions, Anger Management, Anxiety, Bereavement, Childhood Abuse, Childhood Trauma, Depression, Family & Relationship Difficulties, Panic attacks, Trauma and PTSD.

I have a Diploma and an Advanced Diploma in Humanistic Integrative Counselling. I am trained in a range of psychotherapies including Humanistic, Person Centred, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis, Cognitive & Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
As a Member of the BACP I am bound by its Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy, the Ethical Guidelines for Researching Counselling and Psychotherapy (where practitioners undertake research) and subject to the Professional Conduct Procedure for the time being in force."

Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing (EMDR):

Acreditation: I am an EMDR Europe Approved Consultant and Practitioner. I initially trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR) in 2001. I have supervised EMDR therapists through their accreditation to Practitioner and Consultant levels.
I have served as the Secretary/Treasurer of the EMDR Interest Group in Ireland and the Co-ordinator of the Northern Ireland Branch of EMDR UK & Ireland.
EMDR is a highly effective treatment for trauma, as well as many other difficulties. I am trained in the use of EMDR with children as well as adults.
